London Open House

Made with Freeway 4

Every year, some of the most interesting buildings in London are thrown open to the public to visit. Of course, this year's attraction was 30, St Mary's Axe, affectionately known as “The Gherkin”. This building is probably the most striking building on the London sky line . Sadly, the five hour queue was closed by the time I got there, and the nearby Lloyd’s building was also shut. So,a quick walk to City Hall was taken. This is where the London Assembly sits. An oddly spacious building, given it's apparent small size and odd shape. The view from the 9th floor balcony was spectacular, giving vuiews of the Tower Of London, Tower Bridge, the City. In the distance, you can see Canary Wharf, and on the horizon, the Crystal Palace mast.
